East Rome is our own neighborhood. Downtown and Between the Rivers are about five minutes out. Armuchee, Shannon, Lindale, and Silver Creek reach us without going through the center of town.

Three rivers and a lot of treeline make this good parasite country. Heartworm prevention should run twelve months a year in Northwest Georgia. Ticks stay active through most of it. Dogs that swim the Etowah, Oostanaula, or Coosa are worth a leptospirosis conversation. Copperheads turn up along all three in warm weather. A snakebite is an emergency situation, and should be addressed immediately. We keep anti-venom on hand for that occasion.
