Meet the Team at Etowah Animal Hospital

Dr. Abby White

Dr. Abby White Veterinarian, Owner

At the age of 4 years old, Dr. White knew she wanted to be a veterinarian and was often caught trying to pet animals she shouldn't. She graduated from Mississippi State University in 2012, and worked in Mississippi for 1 year before moving to Rome in 2013. She worked at Mount Berry Animal Hospital for a little over 10 years before she and Ben decided to open their own practice.

While renovations were occurring at Etowah Animal Hospital, Dr. White spent some time doing relief work, seeing many ways of practicing veterinary medicine at clinics of all kinds—giving her a unique outlook on how to operate her own clinic. She takes special interest in feline medicine, wound care, and disease management. She also enjoys educating clients and helping them understand their pet's needs.

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, and traveling. She is also quite the adrenaline junkie and can be found at rollercoaster parks, swimming with sharks, pigs, dolphins, or any other fun adventure she can get into. It has always been important to Dr. White to be the voice that animals don't have.

Ben

Ben Practice Manager, Owner

Ben is new to the veterinary world. His background is diverse and includes installing and running sound, high-end custom stair design and building, and business management. When he first saw the building formerly known as the Homestead Restaurant, he knew it was the perfect place to transform into Etowah Animal Hospital. He spent over a year designing and heading the renovation to make Etowah Animal Hospital the beauty it is today.

He can be found upstairs in Zeus' office handling the business side of things. Ben enjoys fishing, good Bourbon, grilling/smoking meats, and going to concerts.

Taylor

Taylor Veterinary Assistant

Taylor has been practicing as a veterinary assistant for a little over a year. Taylor is a UGA graduate with a Master's degree in sport management. After working in the sport industry for 4 years, she found she did not have a passion for it. As a child, she wanted to be a veterinarian, until she learned how many science courses it would require, but has now found her sweet spot as an assistant.

Taylor has worked closely with Dr. White for about a year and has learned most of what she knows from Dr. White. She has a huge passion for pets and is dedicated to providing the best possible care for all animals! Taylor has a dog (Ricky Bobby) and two cats (Carly Bobby and Jersey Mike) that keep her on her toes at home. Owning an anxious breed herself, Taylor finds she is able to help bring some relief to other anxious pets when they come visit the vet.

Haleigh

Haleigh Veterinary Technician Assistant

Haleigh has spent the last 7 years in veterinary medicine. She started her career in kennel care and worked her way up to a veterinary technician assistant—basically turning the love for animals she possesses into her everyday life. She is experienced in supporting veterinary teams in fast-paced environments, assisting with daily procedures, and ensuring the comfort and safety of animals throughout their visit.

Haleigh is especially passionate about dogs and has experience in dog behavior, so she is used to all kinds of personalities (the sweet, the shy, and the extra ones). When not at work, Haleigh is at home with her three dogs—Whiskey, Tater, and Salem—who definitely run the show. Caring for animals isn't just a job for Haleigh, it's something that she genuinely loves and lives every day!

Lilly

Lilly Veterinary Assistant

Lilly is a dedicated veterinary assistant with over 4 years of experience in the veterinary medicine field, including time spent in emergency care. She has had a lifelong passion for working with animals and is committed to ensuring they feel comfortable, safe, and as stress-free as possible during their visit.

Lilly brings compassion and attentiveness to every patient she works with, always striving to provide the highest level of support to both animals and their owners. Her experience in ER veterinary medicine has helped her stay calm under pressure while delivering effective and thoughtful care. Outside of work, Lilly enjoys time with her own pets—two cats, Moo and Dixie, and two dogs, Eddie and Georgie—who continue to inspire her love for animals every day.

Zeus

Zeus Head of Patient Relations

Zeus is head of Patient Relations here at Etowah Animal Hospital and a valued member of the team. He comes to work daily and serves as the ultimate staff support specialist. He loves to give unlimited kisses and insists on getting a long hug from his teammates. He boosts morale, reduces stress, and provides comforting companionship upstairs for our team.

In his spare time, he enjoys chasing tennis balls, napping in his special chair, coercing people into petting him, and begging for food of any kind. Zeus proudly wears his title of "Goodest Boy" and does a wonderful job representing our practice.
